CALIFORNIA, Md. — A 30-year-old man was flown to a trauma center after crashing a motorcycle in California late Friday night.
The crash was reported around 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 28, 2026, in the area of Long Bow Drive near Indian Bridge Road and Cross Bow Lane.
Emergency crews responding to the scene found the rider suffering from facial injuries along with head and neck pain. Initial reports also indicated he was having difficulty breathing.
EMS evaluated and treated the man at the scene before transporting him by ambulance to the hangar at St. Mary’s County Regional Airport.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7 was already waiting at the hangar when the ambulance arrived. The patient was transferred to the helicopter and flown to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center for further treatment.
The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
