Tuesday morning Naval Air Station Patuxent River commemorated the eleventh anniversary of 9/11 with a small somber ceremony on the base parade field.

The event began with a non-denominational prayer in the Religious Program Center followed by a parade of Federal and county emergency vehicles that went down Cedar Point Road from Buse to Tate Road.

Active duty Navy and Marine Corps personnel spoke of where they were eleven years ago and those terrible events shaped their lives. Followed by remarks by the base Fire Chief.

The ceremony closed with the playing of taps.
