NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md. — With just over two months to go, officials have announced a lineup of performers for the 2026 NAS Patuxent River Air Show, set for June 20–21 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River.
Headlining the event will be the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Navy’s premier flight demonstration team known for precision flying and high-speed aerial maneuvers that draw large crowds nationwide. Flying F/A-18 Super Hornets, the Blue Angels serve as ambassadors for the Navy and Marine Corps while showcasing the skill and capabilities of naval aviation.
Also scheduled to appear is the F-16 Viper Demonstration Team, which will highlight the speed and agility of one of the Air Force’s frontline fighter aircraft.
The show will also feature a blend of historic and civilian performers, including Larry Kelley’s B-25 “Panchito,” a World War II-era bomber that has appeared at air shows across the country and has periodically been used as a training platform for students at the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School at NAS Patuxent River.
Additional performers announced include Greg Colyer’s “Ace Maker,” RJ Gritter, Mike Goulian, and Scott Yoak and Jim Tobul’s Class of ’45 demonstration.
Organizers say more performers and event details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The Pax River Air Show is free and open to the public and is one of the largest annual events in Southern Maryland. In addition to aerial performances, the show typically includes aircraft displays, exhibits, and opportunities for the public to experience naval aviation up close.
“The air show is more than an exhibition of aerial displays; it is a community wide event for the Navy to invite the public to see, and feel the air power, first-hand on what goes on at Pax River on a regular basis,” said Jeff Sias, NAS Patuxent River Fleet and Family Readiness Director.
Officials said corporate partners also play an important role in helping make the event possible by supporting costs and strengthening ties between the military and surrounding communities.
