Prince Frederick, MD – A Prince George’s County man who allegedly teamed up with a female to rob a Huntingtown liquor store in broad daylight this past summer has been indicted by a Calvert County grand jury. The seven-count indictment handed down in Calvert County Circuit Court Dec. 17 charges the defendant—Theodore Emanuel Logan, 29 of Temple Hills; with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, theft from $100 to under $1,500, conspiracy to commit theft from $100 to under $1,500, reckless endangerment, firearms use in commission of a felony/violent crime and firearm possession with a felony conviction. Logan’s alleged accomplice—Keocesha Denise McNeil, 24, also of Temple Hills; was indicted on four counts related to the robbery back in September. The counts in the state’s case against McNeil are armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, theft from $100 to under $1,500 and conspiracy to commit theft from $100 to under $1,500.
According to documents on file in the Maryland Judiciary system, on July 25 at approximately 2:07 p.m. the Calvert Control Center was notified of an armed robbery at Discount Liquors on Solomons Island Road. “Caller advised the store was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects,” stated Detective Wayne Wells in court documents. The initial report stated the male “displayed a black handgun with a plastic bag over it. The male demanded to be taken to the safe.” The perpetrators demanded money and the clerk complied by giving them “paper money from the drawer,” Wells stated. “The suspects fled the store in a dark-colored four-door Nissan passenger car bearing a Maryland tag ending in 5300. The vehicle was last seen fleeing northbound on Route 4.”
Investigators were able to identify the vehicle and soon learned it had been reported stolen to the Prince George’s County Police Department, said Wells. “Further investigation revealed that the Nissan Altima was being used on a daily basis throughout Prince George’s County and Washington, DC,” Wells stated. A broadcast was given to local agencies for a 2013 Nissan Altima with tag information. Wells also submitted the vehicle information to the National Crime Information Center as a vehicle being sought in connection with an armed robbery. Police in Prince George’s located Logan and McNeil Aug. 12 when they stopped the Nissan Altima.
“It was learned Logan was the driver and armed with a handgun [.45 caliber] and McNeil was the passenger. Still images obtained from the motor vehicle departments in Maryland and Washington, DC with compared with video and still images captured during the July 25 robbery.
McNeil’s next court appearance is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 4. Logan is tentatively scheduled for a plea hearing Jan. 11. Both defendants could go to trial on the charges in February. According to a docket summary, McNeil is being represented by public defender Luke Woods. Assistant state’s attorneys Gary Morgan and Ashley Sowls are prosecuting the cases against the defendants.
