LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – Pride Southern Maryland (Pride SOMD) is proud to announce its 8th annual LGBTQIA+ Pride Festival, returning on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Lexington Manor Passive Park in Lexington Park, Maryland. The family-friendly celebration is free and open to the public.
This year’s theme, “Existence is Resistance,” underscores the importance of visibility and resilience within the LGBTQIA+ community. This year’s festival will feature a diverse lineup of attractions, including LGBTQIA+ small businesses, community resources, a variety of vendors, delicious offerings from food trucks, a dedicated kids zone, live entertainment from a DJ, captivating drag performances, inspiring speakers, a silent auction, and much more.
Since its beginning with just 50 attendees, Pride SOMD’s annual festival has grown into one of Southern Maryland’s most celebrated community events—drawing over 1,500 people last year.
“Celebrating Pride is a reminder that our community is here, we matter, and we will not be erased,” said Brandon Russell, Vice Chair of Pride SOMD. “In today’s political climate, where LGBTQIA+ lives are consistently under attack, our theme ‘Existence is Resistance’ speaks to the power of showing up proudly, joyfully, and unapologetically.”
Pride SOMD is a community-driven non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the LGBTQIA+ population in Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s Counties. Through its annual event, Pride SOMD provides a safe and inclusive space for the community to gather, learn, and celebrate.
