
LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A 38-year-old Mechanicsville man faces multiple felony drug charges after deputies executed a search and seizure warrant that authorities say resulted in the recovery of cocaine, crack cocaine, drug packaging materials, a digital scale and a substantial amount of currency.
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search and seizure warrant Feb. 20, 2026, locating Kevin Benjamin Berry at the intersection of Great Mills Road and Essex Drive in Lexington Park. Berry was taken into custody without incident, officials said.
During the search, deputies reported recovering tied-off baggies containing cocaine and crack cocaine. Authorities also reported seizing a digital scale with cocaine residue and a large amount of currency. Investigators allege the items are consistent with drug distribution activity, according to charging documents.

According to charging documents, Berry, of Mechanicsville, is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (not cannabis), possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and production of controlled dangerous substance equipment. He is currently being held without bond, according to court records.
Court records indicate Berry is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 24, 2026.
If convicted, penalties under Maryland law may include up to four years of imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $25,000 for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (not cannabis), and up to 20 years of imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $15,000 for possession with intent to distribute certain controlled dangerous substances.
