VALLEY LEE, Md. — Twinkle lights, holiday music and the smell of hot food will fill the grounds of the Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, when the company hosts its fourth annual Christmas tree lighting from 6 to 8 p.m.
The free family event will feature visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, food, music, crafts, kids’ activities and firetruck rides. A firetruck parade and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus atop a rig are planned as part of the evening’s festivities before the tree is lit.
Volunteers and community members have already begun stringing lights and setting up decorations around the station, calling the celebration one of their favorite traditions and a festive way to kick off the Christmas season in Valley Lee.
Organizers invite residents to bundle up, bring the family and enjoy an evening of holiday cheer with their local fire and rescue squad located at 19330 Piney Point Road.
