Sunday’s series finale between the Blue Crabs and the Lancaster Barnstormers was postponed due to unplayable field conditions after a two-hour rain delay in the middle of the fourth inning on Sunday afternoon at Regency Furniture Stadium in Southern Maryland.
Lancaster was leading 6-0 at the time of postponement. The Barnstormers had home runs in the first, second and fourth innings. The game will not be continued and will be restarted because the contest was short of the required five innings to be considered an official game.
The make-up game is to be announced. This was the final series this season in which the Blue Crabs host Lancaster, meaning the make-up game will be made up in one of the two remaining series in Lancaster, PA.
The series’ dates are September 7-9 and September 17-20 with a double header featuring two seven-inning games being played on one of those dates at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
Anyone in attendance at Sunday’s game may exchange their ticket free of charge for any remaining Blue Crabs 2009 regular season home game, based on availability.
The Blue Crabs are in action again Monday evening on the road against the Bridgeport Bluefish, at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, CT, beginning a four-game series through Thursday. Game time is at 7:05 p.m.
