The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 7-5 to lose their third straight game tonight at Regency Furniture Stadium. Lancaster and Southern Maryland would allow just two runs each through the first five innings, but then exchange the lead three times in the later frames of the contest and finally fall in the ninth as the Barnstormers added two runs to secure the victory.

Outfielder Sean Smith would lead off the game with a triple for the Blue Crabs and Renny Osuna would too single, leading to the first two runs of the game. Lancaster would not let Southern Maryland hold on to the lead for long though as outfielder Blake Gailen hit a two-run home run (his seventh of the season) in the top of the fourth for the 2-2 tie. The Barnstormers would then attempt to break away in the seventh by adding three tallies for the three-run lead. Throughout the next two however, the Blue Crabs would string together a comeback with three of their to lock the score at five. As the top of the ninth inning came around the Barnstormers would then re-gain the lead for the 7-2 score and eventual final.
