WALDORF, MD – To say that Corey Wood had a plan in place for proposing to Erica Reitan is an understatement. Wood and Reitan, who live in Mechanicsville, are the winners of the Southern Maryland Dream Wedding Giveaway, which is sponsored by Southern Maryland Weddings and features the work of some of the area’s best wedding service providers.
Corey’s plan was in place for years; the ring was in his possession for six months. But last fall, on the couple’s annual camping trip with her family, he put the wheels into motion. He hired a photographer, and scoped out a location: Big Meadows Lodge in Shenandoah National Park. In front of a roaring fire, he asked, and she said yes.
Now, the high school sweethearts are in the beginning stages of planning their dream wedding. Along with their mothers Cathy Wood and Debbie Reitan, Erica and Corey met on Friday, March 17, with Kimberly Bean, founder and CEO of Southern Maryland Weddings, and their vendors for a luncheon at Middleton Hall in Waldorf. The hall will host the couple’s wedding on July 21, 2017.
“It was such a pleasure to spend time with Erica and Corey and their moms,” Bean said. “They are a special couple, and I am honored that we are all able to be a part of their big day!”
