LEONARDTOWN, Md. — St. Mary’s County Public Schools is pleased to announce that the 2026-2027 Open House Schedule is now available for online viewing at www.smcps.org/bts.
The first day of school for students is Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, with the exception of Chesapeake Charter School, which begins Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026.
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we invite you to visit www.smcps.org/bts where you can access school supply lists, student resources, forms, bus information and other back-to-school resources.
Questions about the open house schedule or first-day-of-school preparation should be directed to your child’s school.
The Department of Transportation expects to have bus routes available for the 2026-2027 school year on Aug. 1, 2026. For more information, please visit the Department of Transportation website at www.smcps.org/transportation.
Home Access Center (HAC) will be available to the public on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at www.smcps.org/hac. Here you will find student schedules, update emergency information, and see your student’s bus stop times and bus stop locations.
