Lexington Park, MD – Local firefighters were dispatched around 7 a.m. Thursday morning, June 30 to the Big Lots store on North Shangri-La Drive. Reports from the scene indicated the retailer’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning system malfunctioned, causing smoke to fill the building. No injuries were reported.
