LA PLATA, Md. – The Town of La Plata announced a resident survey to get input on government services and measure the quality of life in the community. The Town plans to use this data in its strategic planning process.
The survey allows more people to participate in shaping that plan and the future of La Plata. “We are excited to receive more input from the community to guide our strategic direction. The survey will help us get a baseline understanding of our services and allow us to measure our impact going forward,” said Chuck Stevens, the Town Manager.
The National Community Survey (The NCS) was developed by National Research Center at Polco. The survey captures opinions on the economy, mobility, community design, utilities, safety, natural environment, inclusivity, engagement, and other elements of La Plata ‘s overall livability.
The results will show La Plata ’s strengths, areas of improvement, and what matters most to residents. The Town will also be able to see how its performance compares to other communities across the country.
Randomly selected households will receive mailed survey invitations over the next few weeks. Households that receive an invitation are asked to follow the enclosed instructions and complete the survey. All residents will have the opportunity to share their input in a few weeks, when the survey becomes available to the entire community.
“We strongly encourage all residents to take the survey. The more people who participate, the better data we will have to inform our plan,” said Stevens. “This is an opportunity for everyone in the community to share their thoughts and shape the future of La Plata.”
