At 8:35PM a call went out with a report of a houseboat fire on Placid Harbor Way in Hollywood. One patient has been transported to the hospital for burn injuries.

At 8:35 P.M. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, fire crews were dispatched to a boat fire in Placid Harbor off of Placid Harbor way with dispatch receiving multiple phone calls about it. Crews arrived on scene to find a single house boat well engulfed in fire with the fire contained to the boat. Crew quickly made an attack on the fire while EMS initiated care for the single patient who had burns to his face and hands. As crews knocked down the fire, they discovered a shine on the water which they believed was fuel and they called for the hazmat team contain it. The Maryland State Fire Marshals office and the Department of Natural Resources in order to conduct an investigation. We have been informed that a male subject did live on the boat. The last fire/EMS unit cleared the scene at 10:21 P.M.
