A two-story house is on fire on Kerry Court in Owings. Huntingtown VFD is fighting the fire.

At 12:33 P.M. on Friday, February 3, 2012, crews were dispatched to the 2300 block of Kerry Court in Chesapeake Beach for the working house fire. Initial crews arrived on scene and announced to incoming crews that heavy smoke was coming from the structure. Crews made a swift attack on the fire with reported heavy fire conditions on the second floor while EMS assessed the homeowner. The bulk of the fire was quickly extinguished and crews switched in to overhaul mode to ensure that all the remaining “hot spots” were extinguished. At this time, extra units started to clear the scene while remaining units continued to finish overhaul on the structure. The homeowner was transported to the hospital to be checked out as well as two firefighters for minor burn injuries. The final units cleared the scene at 2:41.
