At about 4:41 a.m. March 14, Bel Alton, La Plata, Newburg, Waldorf, Potomac Heights, Bryans Road and Marbury Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a fire at a Bel Alton tattoo shop.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal the fire in Noah Ryan’s Custom Tattoo was discovered by Ryan Graham, who was in the shop at the time.
The tattoo shop, owned by Larry Edwards, is located in a strip mall and was completely destroyed. Damage is estimated at a total of $400,000. The other two businesses in the building sustained smoke damage.
It took 45 firefighters about 20 minutes to control the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire marshal’s office report had no information about injuries as a result of this incident.
Bel Alton, MD – On Saturday morning, March 14, the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department arrived at a fire at a tattoo shop in Bel Alton.
According to the company’s web site, arriving members performed the primary search and provided roof ventilation for the first due company.
Crews operated for about two hours before being returned to service.
One firefighter was reportedly injured fighting the fire. No further information on the incident is available at this time.
