UPDATE – 10/15/2025 – “We’re Open!” — Nick’s Of Clinton Bounces Back After Tuesday Crash
WALDORF, Md. — A vehicle crashed into the side of Nick’s of Clinton along Route 5 on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, damaging part of the popular grocery and deli but causing no injuries.
Emergency dispatchers received the call around 1:25 p.m. for a vehicle into a building at 3953 St. Charles Parkway. Authorities said a 60-year-old man was operating the vehicle when it struck the building, knocking over display racks inside and causing visible structural damage to the exterior wall.
Firefighters worked with store employees to evacuate everyone from the business as a precaution while assessing potential hazards. No injuries were reported, and emergency medical services cleared the scene shortly after arrival.
An employee of Nick’s of Clinton said the store will remain closed for the remainder of the day but hopes to reopen by 10 a.m. Wednesday following safety inspections.
Charles County fire officials established incident command before turning the scene over to a building inspector, who was expected to arrive within 30 minutes to evaluate the structural integrity of the affected wall.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
