California, MD – On June 12, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Knott responded to Ventura Way in Lexington Park for the report of a domestic assault.
When Knott arrived on the scene, he approached a male victim, who advised, “he got into an argument with his live-in girlfriend over not having the money to buy their children beds,” according to charging documents.
The victim advised the defendant, identified as Roxanne E. Jewett, 33, of California, got angry and threw some apple juice at him. Jewett then proceeded to push him, resulting in a scratch to the victim’s left side.
Dep. Knott then approached Jewett, who stated the victim threw the apple juice at her first, and she picked it (apple juice) up and threw it back at him.
Knott observed a small scratch on the victim’s left side just below his arm pit. Jewett was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where she was charged with second-degree assault.
At this time, Jewett does not have a scheduled court date. Jewett faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.
