
Caleisha Sharnay McLaughlin
Great Mills, MD— On Oct.30 The St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 45000 block of Foxchase Drive in Great Mills for the report of an assault.
The victim alleged the suspect, Caleisha Sharnay McLaughlin, 23 of Lexington Park, struck the victim in the arm with a baseball bat.
According to court documents “The victim had come to the aforementioned residence to gather his belongings as the two are separating. While doing so, the defendant struck him the right arm with a wooden baseball bat.”
“A struggle between the two ensued during which the defendant punched the victim in the mouth several times and again hit him in his right arm with the wooden baseball bat,” according to court documents.
McLaughlin was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
She has been charged with assault second-degree and faces a maximum jail sentence of ten years and or a maximum fine of $2,500.
McLaughlin has a trial date tentatively set for Jan.14 at 8:45 a.m., in St.Mary’s County District Court.
