vehicle fire in southern maryland

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A vehicle fire outside a Lexington Park store Sunday morning was quickly brought under control and did not spread to nearby buildings.

Firefighters and emergency personnel were dispatched about 10:25 a.m. Nov. 30, 2025 to Blimpie’s located at 21141 Three Notch.

Crews to find a single vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire and bring it under control within minutes, preventing it from extending to an adjacent structure.

The driver and a passenger were able to get out of the vehicle before the fire spread through the passenger compartment. Surveillance footage from nearby businesses showed the vehicle pulling into the parking lot with smoke already visible from the engine compartment. The fire then rapidly moved into the interior, but the passenger helped the driver out in time.

EMS evaluated the driver for breathing difficulties. Both occupants declined further treatment, and no one was taken to a hospital.

  1. That Blimpie doesn’t exist any longer, it’s been 2 years now. It’s called Quick Stop and the car wash there is gone as well.
    Don’t blink.
