21 Arrested at Pot Party; More Tri-County Drug Arrests

At 2:01 a.m. Aug. 19, Charles County Sheriff’s officers were patrolling the parking lot of Thai Seafood located at 2732 Crain Highway in Waldorf when they discovered marijuana in plain view inside multiple vehicles.

When the occupants returned to the vehicles, officers detained them. Marijuana was recovered from five vehicles.

During the investigation, several patrons in the parking lot became disorderly and were arrested. Ten adults and 11 juveniles, all from Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C., were arrested.
Charges against them varied from marijuana possession to disorderly conduct.

Cops Find Crack After Pepper-Spraying Man
On Aug. 30, Deputy Kristi Nelson and Deputy Todd Fleenor were patrolling the Lexington Park area of St. Mary’s County when they observed Walter Jerome Ford, 42 of Park Hall,  assaulting a male victim.

Deputies had to deploy pepper spray to bring Ford under control. Ford was also found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine.

Deputy Nelson arrested Ford and charged him with Assault in the Second Degree and Possession of Cocaine.

At 9:41 p.m. Aug. 26, Calvert Sheriff’s Dep. John Harms conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Md. Rt. 4 and Cove Point Road in Lusby.

The driver, later identified as Dwayne A. Presgraves, Jr., 28 of Lusby, was found to be driving under the influence and in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, hydrocodone.  He was arrested and charged.

At 6:44 p.m. Aug. 25, Calvert Sheriff’s Dep. Mark Fitzgerald conducted a traffic stop on Md. Rt. 231 near Calvert Fair Drive.

The driver, later identified as Donald J. Bowen, 24 of Barstow, was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  He was arrested and charged.

At 11:03 p.m. Aug. 24, St. Mary’s Sheriff Dep. Thomas Rickard, assisted by Dep. James Morgan, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomons.

The driver, later identified as Ronald E. Smith, Sr., 38 of White Plains, was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
