
WALDORF, Md. — A 23-year-old man was flown to a trauma center Thursday afternoon after he was shot in the upper leg in Waldorf.
Emergency personnel were dispatched around 3:25 p.m. on Aug. 6, 2026, to the 2000 block of Amber Leaf Place for a reported shooting.
Initial information indicated the man had been shot before walking toward a nearby bus stop to obtain a phone. The victim reported that the shooter drove away, and no description of the suspect was immediately available.
Emergency medical personnel applied a tourniquet to the man’s leg and requested a Maryland State Police helicopter.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 transported the patient to a trauma center with injuries considered serious.
Police searched the area and investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No arrest information was immediately available.
