TEMPLE HILLS, Md. – The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Temple Hills Thursday evening. The victim is 79-year-old Eleanor Beecher of St. Barnabas Road in Temple Hills.

On January 11th, at approximately 5:50 pm, patrol officers responded to the 4000 block of Branch Avenue for a collision involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian, Beecher, died of her injuries. The driver of the involved car remained on the scene and was taken to a hospital for observation.

The investigation reveals Beecher was struck as she tried to cross southbound Branch Avenue. Preliminarily, it appears she was not in a crosswalk.
