HOLLYWOOD, Md. — A 18-year-old Lexington Park resident is facing a barrage of criminal charges in two separate but related cases after allegedly orchestrating a coordinated assault with pepper spray and multiple accomplices on two young girls, then following up with a second attack that affected four additional people at a separate residence later the same evening.
Darnajah Rachelle Warrick was arrested on May 8, 2025, following reports that she and four unidentified associates jumped out of a silver sedan and attacked a 16-year-old and her 11-year-old sister on Pegg Road near Midway Drive. According to court records, the group first approached the girls yelling threats: “We are gonna beat your ass, and we are gonna get your little sister too!”
Witness statements and physical evidence allege that Warrick pepper-sprayed both girls and then led the group in punching and kicking the elder of the two victims at least 10 times in the head. During the incident, the assailants reportedly shouted, “Get the phones, get the phones,” before fleeing the scene with both of the victims’ iPhones. The total estimated value of the stolen and broken devices was $200.
The alleged motive behind the ambush? According to one victim’s account, Warrick believed the girl was attempting to have a romantic relationship with a boy Warrick was interested in. One of the additional suspects allegedly later told a mutual acquaintance that Warrick was in possession of both stolen iPhones and had destroyed them.
At the time of her arrest, Warrick reportedly corroborated significant details from the victims’ accounts, including her use of the pepper spray and participation in the assault. She was booked into the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held without bond. She now faces six charges: armed robbery, robbery, use of a chemical device with intent to injure, theft under $1,500, and two counts of second-degree assault. Armed robbery carries a maximum sentence of 20 years under Maryland law. The case is assigned to Judge James Tanavage, who presided over Warrick’s initial bail review.
But it didn’t end there.
Later the same evening, Warrick was allegedly involved in a second incident — this time at a separate residence — where she again used pepper spray, this time spraying through a window into a room occupied by four individuals, according to court records. The victims — three teens and one adult — said they refused to open the door for Warrick and that she sprayed them through the window before fleeing. Investigators later tied this case to Warrick’s arrest earlier in the day.
In that incident, she is charged with an additional count of second-degree assault. Judge Tanavage also reviewed that case, ultimately assigning Warrick an unsecured personal bond of $500, which she posted on May 9.
Court records confirm that Warrick is represented by the Office of the Public Defender for St. Mary’s County. A preliminary hearing for both cases is scheduled for June 5, 2025, in District Courtroom 2.

This is the same woman who was arrested in January for trying to stab her own family member. Put this lady in Jail and take her child away from her. This is insane that she’s still out on the streets. She will kill someone eventually

Definitely needs to be held accountable for her choices, traumatized the 11 year old and 16 year old victims. Hopefully she will get time along with mental health requirements. Prayers to the victims….
I cannot understand her $500 bail, why would the Judge feels she needed to be back in society, it is obvious she is not done with releasing her rage on innocent people. Come on courts let’s do better in protecting the innocent people.
