LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division served search warrants Wednesday morning at a residence in the 21000 block of Mary Margaret Court in Lexington Park, recovering firearms, cash and suspected narcotics.
Ofori Holmes, 45, was arrested and charged with seven offenses after deputies located suspected cocaine, suspected crack cocaine, controlled dangerous substances (CDS) paraphernalia, a Cobra CA-380 handgun, a Glock 23 .40-caliber handgun equipped with an illegally installed rapid-fire conversion device, and $10,216 in cash.
Holmes was charged with possession with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a rapid-fire trigger activator, possession and use of a machine gun, two counts of possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Holmes is being held at the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown pending a bond hearing.
Are they actually going to charge him for having a machine pistol or is this another one of those cases where they forget to do that?

Lexington Park needs to build stable opportunities for Black Americans, and hilight successful pathways to life. When you’re feeling boxed out by community, you are prone to irrational thinking, the county knows this. When I served AmeriCorps we ran into kids that had NO IDEA that a life-changing opportunity was just a few miles away. Give these people an opportunity, and the drugs will stop.
