Melanie Virgo and her mom, Jennifer Garner were impressed with the Dollar Tree Store in San Souci Plaza

Lexington Park, MD โ€“ Sunday, Jan. 29, the new Dollar Tree store located in the San Souci Plaza in California had the official grand opening of its new larger location on MacArthur Boulevard. Dollar Tree, rated North Americaโ€™s largest single price point-of-sale retailer, closed the original California store location across the street near Mission BBQ last week for the final time. The new larger store is located across the street next to Marshalls.

Once the doors opened at 9 a.m., shoppers walked the aisles to see what new and exciting deals they could find. At Dollar Tree, every item is priced at $1 (or less). Consumers will find a variety of values on cleaning supplies, greeting cards, household supplies, home dรฉcor, floral supplies and everything in between at the new Dollar Tree.

One local resident, Patricia Smith of Lexington Park, told TheBayNet.com, โ€œThe store is nice, and I am originally from the state of California where all the Dollar Tree stores are big like this new one. I am very happy to see this store open today. I canโ€™t wait to get home and call my daughter, who lives in Oakland, and tell her I have a Dollar Tree store here just like the one she has in Oakland, CA.โ€

Some members of the community have been patiently waiting for the opening of this new location. Alice Thomas of Lexington Park said, โ€œI am glad to see they opened a bigger store. We would drive all the way to Waldorf to go to the bigger store because they have more variety.โ€

Consumers shop at the local Dollar Tree store when they need to purchase everyday household items, as well as things for the holidays, school, and party celebrations. Yes โ€“ everything in the store is a $1. Shoppers can fill their pantry any day of the year with $1 values on brand-name food, snacks, candy, gum and drinks.

Melanie Virgo of California was very happy with the staff and service at the new location. Virgo is a regular Dollar Tree Shopper and truly enjoyed her shopping experience. โ€œThis store is bigger, cleaner, neater and well-stocked compared to the one across the street. I am glad to see this store is now open.โ€ she said.

โ€œI shopped at the other store all the time, and this is aย big improvement from the one they closed across the street. I am glad to see this store is more organized and cleaner,โ€ said Jennifer Gardner of California.

The new Dollar Tree is located off Three Notch Road on MacAurthur Boulevard in Lexington Park inside the San Souci Plaza Shopping Center. Regular operating hours of the store are Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
