Washington, DC – March 28, 3:45 p.m. – A shooting of a police officer has been reported in the visitor center of the U.S. Capitol complex. The police officer is not believed to be seriously injured; a female bystander has been injured as well.

One male suspect is in custody.

UPDATE — Shelter in place has been lifted at U.S. Capitol complex. Reports indicate that the Visitor Center remains closed at this time.
