Mechanicsville, MD— On Oct.10, 2015, St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy James Bare responded to Foley Mattingly Road in Mechanicsville.
The defendant, who was identified as Martena L. Bennett, 24, of no fixed address became aware her step-father (victim) would be out of town and away from his residence.
According to charging documents, “Bennett and co-defendant forced entry into the home through a rear patio window. They then allowed other people into the residence and threw a party.”
A witness advised, “after allowing everyone into the residence, Bennett left and went to stay with her boyfriend. The co-defendant stole several items from the residence and committed property destruction after Bennett left,” according to charging documents.
Bennett was charged with fourth-degree burglary. Bennett has a hearing scheduled for April 26 at District Court.
