On Oct. 26, Maureen Eichelberger contacted the Calvert County Animal Control Office to report that two pit bulls had attacked the family’s pet rabbits.
Animal Control Officer Fisher responded to Ashwood Dr, Dunkirk to investigate the incident of the three rabbits being attacked.
Two of the rabbits were killed and one was injured while they were housed in their hutch.
As a result of his investigation the owner of the dogs was identified as, Jesse McCelvey, of Dunkirk. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
