LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — We are receiving reports this evening of a motor vehicle accident that is sending one person to the hospital.
At approximately 7:52 p.m. on October 6, first responders were called to the scene on Route 235 in the area of MacArthur Boulevard for the reported collision. The caller had warned of damages in the median with three cars involved and one person “partially ejected” from a vehicle.
Upon arrival, crews discovered only two vehicles had been involved in the crash and there was no entrapment.
A helicopter from the Maryland State Police Aviation was placed on standby while patients involved were being evaluated. That command was terminated and one patient was transported to a nearby hospital for additional treatment.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office issued the following advisory following the accident: “Use caution northbound Rt. 235 and MacArthur Blvd due to a motor vehicle accident.”
Expect delays in the area, and avoid the intersection if possible.
