The Calvert County Health Department’s Crisis Intervention Center is now working in conjunction with the newly organized Calvert County’s Sexual Assault Response Team (S.A.R.T.)
S.A.R.T. is a multidisciplinary interagency team working collaboratively to provide services for victims of sexual assault in Calvert County and offering specialized sexual assault intervention services. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, as a member of S.A.R.T., is working in conjunction with Crisis Intervention Center, Calvert Memorial Hospital and other Calvert County agencies, to assure that a victim of sexual assault can receive support after a rape.
We need volunteer advocates who can be on-call to report to the hospital after an assault takes place, offer support and information to the victim and family regarding hospital, law enforcement and/or criminal procedure, and provide victims with information regarding services available within Calvert County.
Shift rotations are from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. M-F and one weekend per month. Background checks are required and training is provided.
