The Calvert County Health Department’s Crisis Intervention Center is now working in conjunction with the newly organized Calvert Countyโ€™s Sexual Assault Response Team (S.A.R.T.)

S.A.R.T. is aย  multidisciplinary interagency team working collaboratively to provide services for victims of sexual assault in Calvert County and offering specialized sexual assault intervention services.ย  The Calvert County Sheriffโ€™s Office, as a member of S.A.R.T., is working in conjunction with Crisis Intervention Center, Calvert Memorial Hospital and other Calvert County agencies, to assure that a victim of sexual assault can receive support after a rape.ย

We need volunteer advocates who can be on-call to report to the hospital after an assault takes place, offer support and information to the victim and family regarding hospital, law enforcement and/or criminal procedure, and provide victims with information regarding services available within Calvert County.ย

Shift rotations are from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. M-F and one weekend per month. Background checks are required and training is provided.ย

For more information or to volunteer your time, please contact Phyllis Poole, Crisis Intervention Center, at the Calvert County Sheriffโ€™s Office at (410) 535-2800 ext. 2577.
