North East, MD — The Maryland State Police North East Barrack credits an aggressive enforcement stance for 36 arrests of impaired drivers in the month of July.
In July alone, there were 1274 traffic traffic stops with 36 leading to arrests for suspected impaired driving.
A news release from the North East Barrack stated, “The Maryland State Police is committed to reducing impaired driving and preventing alcohol/drug-related accidents.”
One driver was arrested twice in the same month for driving under the influence.
The State Police want to remind drivers that drunk/impaired driving can result in serious crashes, injuries or death. Anyone who observes what they believe to be a drunk or impaired driver should call 9-1-1.
