PASADENA, Md. — An early morning house fire in Pasadena claimed the life of a 63-year-old woman Tuesday night, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 10:50 p.m. on April 21, 2026, to the 300 block of Magothy Beach Road after a 911 caller inside the home reported the residence was on fire.

Firefighters arrived within minutes and found flames showing from the front of the home. Occupants at the scene advised that one person remained trapped inside.

Crews entered the residence and located an adult female, later identified as Cindy Hill, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control in approximately 30 minutes.

Three other occupants were displaced by the fire. Officials said they were not related to the victim.

Anne Arundel County fire investigators are working to determine the origin and cause of the fire, which is believed to be accidental. Authorities reported that smoke detectors in the home were functioning and alerted occupants to the fire.

The American Red Cross and Anne Arundel County Mobile Crisis Team are assisting those displaced.

This marks the first fire-related fatality in Anne Arundel County in 2026.
