WALDORF, MD. — RHP Jonathan Albaladejo went 6.2 innings, allowing an earned run and striking out eight to pick up his 12th win of the year as the Blue Crabs fell to the Bluefish 3-2 in the series finale on Thursday night, giving up the series three games to one.

With one run in the top of the second, the Bluefish officially scored first in all four games of the series.  Lefty Brian Burres walked designated hitter Jonathan Galvez, left fielder Angelys Nina reached on a single to centerfield, and second baseman hit a fly ball off the left field wall to score the first run of the game.

The Bluefish added to their lead in the top of the seventh. Sean Burroughs led off the inning with a line drive single to right, followed by Jonathan Galvez who singled to left field. Luis Nunez was intentionally walked and Anthony Giansanti hit a sacrifice fly to deep center field to score Burroughs. Galvez scored when the next batter, catcher Alex Marquez, sent a base hit to the gap in right field to give to Bluefish a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the frame, Gustavo Molina and Zach Wilson hit back-to-back doubles to give the Blue Crabs their first run of the game and cut Bridgeport’s lead to two runs. In the bottom of the ninth, Molina singled deep to right field, and Zach Wilson beat out a potential double-play ball to keep the inning alive.

Jamar Walton doubled to center and Wilson scored, making it a one-run game. Bryant Nelson entered the game to pinch hit for Alfredo Marte, and Walton advanced to third on a wild pitch, but the tying run was stranded ninety feet away when Nelson struck out to end the game. The Blue Crabs are now 19-11 in one run games.

The Blue Crabs will welcome the New Britain Bees to town for a three game series beginning tomorrow.  The first pitch is set for 7:05 P.M.  For tickets, call 301-638-9788, or log on to somdbluecrabs.com.
