ANNAPOLIS, Md. –ย The Cityโs biggest parade all year โ the Annapolis St. Patrickโs Day Parade โ will take place on Sunday, March 11, at 1 p.m. The parade includes more than 100 units and is expected to draw 5,000-7,000 people to Annapolis.
โGroups from as far away as Norway, up and down the East Coast, Tennessee and across the country are coming to our parade here in Annapolis because itโs become such a huge hit,โ said Mayor Buckley. โHotels are sold out, hundreds of fire fighters and first responders are coming to town to participate, and our City of Annapolis departments are prepared and ready for the crowds and to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time..โ
The parade will travel down West Street to Church Circle, around the circle to Main Street, down Main Street, and end at City Dock. Streets along the route will close at 1 p.m. and are expected to remain closed until approximately 3 p.m.
The parade is sponsored by Naptown Events, which is sponsoring bus shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium to the staging area (near Maryland Hall) for parade participants and to the downtown area for parade watchers.
This yearโs parade and the surrounding festivities are in support of Wounded Troops through a local non-profit called Warrior Events.
