At approximately 4:13 a.m., this morning, March 13, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Thomas Johnson Bridge located in Solomons to assist with a vehicle that was stopped at the top of the bridge. Upon arriving, the deputy located a Ford van. The van was running and the doors were closed.
The deputy located a note in the vehicle, which indicated that the driver/victim had committed suicide by jumping from the bridge. The victim was identified by his Maryland Driver’s License as 35-year-old Paul Michael Walters of Hughesville.
A search for Walters by rescue personnel was subsequently conducted with negative results.
