Wetlands Overlook Park north beach

NORTH BEACH, Md. — The town of North Beach is looking for high-quality nature photos taken at Wetlands Overlook Park. For the many amateur photographers in Southern Maryland, this is a great opportunity to get your photos seen and be a part of the story of the town.

According to a post on the town’s Facebook page, the photos will be used on interpretive signage that tells the story of the park. Photos can be of landscapes, animals, bugs or plants. Multiple submissions are welcome. The town did not provide a deadline for submissions in their announcement and didn’t immediately return The BayNet’s request for additional information.

In order to submit your photos, you’ll need to sign the photo release form and then email them to the town naturalist, Paige Stevens, at pstevens@northbeachmd.org. Interested photographers can also schedule a time with Stevens to meet at the Nature Center in the park and deliver the photos in person.

North Beach and Calvert County often utilize the community’s many talented photographers to source photos for social media, websites, flyers, brochures and more. Southern Maryland’s natural beauty and water-focused lifestyle make it a popular spot for photographers from all over the region.

The 2025 Maryland Natural Resource Photo Contest drew more than 1,800 submissions. The winning photo was of a river otter.

You can follow North Beach’s Facebook page for updates and to see the winners.
