Zachary Kimmel, a longtime Maryland resident based in Calvert County, has called Southern Maryland home for most of his life. Inspired by legendary broadcaster John Madden, Zachary developed a passion for sports media at a young age, eventually launching his own YouTube channel to learn the fundamentals of broadcasting and content creation. That passion led him to pursue journalism, where he enjoys telling the stories of local athletes and the communities that support them.
A graduate of Liberty University, Zachary is passionate about covering all levels of local sports, believing every athlete and team deserves recognition. Whether it's football, volleyball, hockey or any other sport, he is committed to sharing each story with the same level of effort and respect. Outside of journalism, he enjoys exploring Southern Maryland's natural beauty, especially Cypress Swamp at Battle Creek, and grabbing a meal from local favorites like Ledo's Pizza, Golden Chicken and Nick's of Calvert. His goal is to shine a spotlight on Maryland's sports community by sharing the stories that matter most to local athletes, coaches and fans.
