BUSHWOOD, Md. — Late this morning, we received word of a beaver attack that has left two injured.
At approximately 11:55 a.m. on June 26, first responders were dispatched to reports of a dog attack in the 2100 block of Fosters Neck Drive. Upon arrival, crews discovered two female victims with injuries and lacerations to their arms and legs.
The women told first responders that they were walking on the beach and saw what they thought was a small dog approaching them. Evidently, it was not a dog.
As they went along the beach, the women reported that the animal came and attacked them which has since been identified as a beaver.
The women were transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. One was taken to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, and the other was taken to MedStar Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.
Animal Control and other authorities were unable to locate the beaver following the attack.
