The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs faced off against the York Revolutionย Sundayย in the final game of the four game set at Regency Furniture Stadium. It was the seventh time the two teams have met in the last ten days with the two teams each having won three games apiece. Toeing the rubber for the Blue Crabs was LHP Wade Korpi who was looking to earn his third win on the season after joining the team in May. He was opposed by righty Pedro Liriano who had won his last two decisions.
The Blue Crabs struck first in the bottom of the fourth inning when Blue Crabs INF Jake Opitz connected for his second home run as a Blue Crab. Opitz knocked in Brian Barton who was in his first game back from being on the DL. The Revolution would add one in the fifth but the Crabs would answer back with one of their own in the bottom half when Wladimir Sutil scored on a Liriano balk. York took the lead in the seventh on a three run homer by 2B Wilson Batista but the Blue Crabs would remain resilient yet again when OF Sean Smith hit a clutch two-out RBI triple to score Sutil. After a scoreless eighth, Yorkโs Andres Perez beat out an infield singled to short to score Ruddy Yan. The Blue Crabs couldnโt respond in the ninth as they fell to the Revolution 5-4.
