The Patuxent Partnership announced today that Bonnie Green, Senior Commodity Advisor for Catholic Relief Services, has been appointed as the new Executive Director.ย  She will assume her new responsibilities beginning on June 5.

โ€œWe are pleased to bring Bonnie into the leadership of The Patuxent Partnership,โ€ said Board President Bob Allen, โ€œBonnie brings a depth of experience in government, federal contracting, international business, and private practice that will serve the members of The Patuxent Partnership very well.โ€

Upon her selection following a competitive search process, Green commented:ย  โ€œI am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead The Patuxent Partnership. Having spent considerable time in each of TPPโ€™s membership categories โ€“ government, business, and academe โ€“ it is unique to find an organization committed to developing the common agenda between all three. I look forward to pursuing this great potential with our members, and to becoming a full-time member of the southern Maryland community.โ€

Green is a graduate of St. Maryโ€™s College of Maryland, and she holds an MBA from George Washington University. Her employment experience includes a stint with the American President Lines in Oakland, California, as Manager and then Director of Government Services. In her position as Director of Government Services, she managed transportation contracts with the DoD, and partnered with a wide range of suppliers, Federal agencies, foreign embassies and nonprofit organizations on international programs.

She was also Director, Performance and Communications for the company, managing annual revenues in the Asian market in excess of $800 Million, including sales, and marketing and strategic planning.

As a private consultant, she advised industry and trade associations on contract and regulatory issues related to U.S. Government programs. Prior to her most recent work with Catholic Relief Services, she was Deputy Maritime Administrator at the Department of Transportation. In that position, she worked closely with the U.S. Coast Guard and other government agencies on the Maritime Transportation System, port security and other initiatives.

She was responsible for the Maritime Administration budget and oversight, and she testified before Congress on its behalf. During her tenure with Catholic Relief Services, she was responsible for the risk management of international humanitarian commodity assistance distributed on behalf of the U.S. Government.

She has traveled extensively to accomplish program objectives.ย  Among her membership outside of her work life, Green has served on the Board of Trustees of St. Maryโ€™s College of Maryland for the past twelve years, and she has been an active member of the alumni association. Greenโ€™s other personal and professional activity includes participation in the Historic St. Maryโ€™s City Foundation, National Defense Transportation Association, the Navy League of the United States, the Propeller Club of the United States, the National Association of Female Executives, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, as well as church and community organizations.
