A 9-year-old boy who went missing for nearly seven hours Sunday was found unharmed by a good Samaritan who happened to be passing by and spotted the child.

The driver and his wife, spotted the boy walking near Chancellors Run Regional Park at approximately 9:40 p.m.

Police and firefighters had been searching for the boy since 5:30 p.m., when he was reported already missing for several hours.

Officials established a command post across the street from McKay’s store in Lexington Park, in Cadillac Jack’s parking lot.

Police were joined in the search party by volunteer firefighters and rescue squad members from Lexington Park, Leonardtown and Hollywood.
