PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Calvert County Government recently recognized several local barbers and hairstylists following a Back-2-School event that helped over 160 children.
They posted the following message on social media:
“The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) recognized local barbershop owners Jermaine Commodore and Kortney Gray of Renaissance Tonsorium, for their contributions to improving the quality of life for Calvert County residents.
Renaissance Tonsorium held a Back-2-School event on Aug. 29, 2021. With the assistance of eight barbers and four hairstylists, Jermaine and Kortney offered free haircuts, styling for girls and school supplies to local youth, to help them return back to school feeling great.
Through support from family, community members, local businesses, churches and other organizations, Renaissance Tonsorium was able to give school supplies, food, drinks, smoothies and personal grooming supplies to more than 160 local children.
The BOCC invites citizens to join them in thanking Jermaine and Kortney for their immense contributions to the community.”
