PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Calvert County Fair is more than rides, food and farm exhibits — it’s a celebration of local talent and tradition. This September, the Calvert County Fair Idol Contest will once again take center stage, inviting performers from across Southern Maryland to showcase their voices and entertain fairgoers.
The Idol Contest has become a highlight of fair week, giving singers and entertainers from across Southern Maryland a chance to share their voices. Open to ages 14 to 29 in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties, the contest brings neighbors together to cheer on hometown performers as they compete for top cash prizes.
Winners of the Calvert County Fair Idol Contest will earn $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $300 for third, along with the honor of performing on the fair’s main stage before a packed crowd. The top 12 contestants advancing to the “Idol Showcase” also receive free admission and parking on contest days. Because the fair is a family event, both attire and song choices must be appropriate, with judges scoring contestants on vocal ability, stage presence, entertainment value and overall impression.
The entry deadline is Sept. 17, 2025, and all contestants must submit forms by this date to participate in auditions.
