On December 10th the Calvert Shop with a Cop program will be taking children from all over the county for Christmas shopping. A majority of the children were selected by school counselors from the Countyโ€™s middle and elementary schools. The children will be picked up by area Law Enforcement and transported to the Outback Steak House in Prince Frederick where they will be fed a snack.ย  Children and officers will arrive at the Outback between 8 and 8:30 a.m.ย  When all children have shown up at the Outback the children will be escorted to the Wal-Mart with lights and sirens activated.ย  The route of travel will be south of Main Street from Outback to Route 4.ย  The escort will then travel north to the Wal-Mart parking lot. After the children are done shopping they will be transported to the St. Leonard Fire House where they will be fed breakfast by the Ladies Auxiliary and given assistance with wrapping their gifts.ย

ย ย ย ย  The Calvert Shop with a Cop program is funded by donations from individuals and the business community.ย  Generous donations from Stoneyโ€™s of Broomes Island, Chick Fil A, the Calvert and St. Leonard Optimist Clubs, the F.O.P. Lodge 109, the Greene Turtle and many other private citizens have made this yearโ€™s effort possible.ย  ย
