Late Thursday, Dec. 3, at approximately11 p.m., a Pontiac Grand Prix was seen traveling down Midway Drive approaching Pegg Rd in Lexington Park. The vehicle crashed for unknown reasons.
When authorities arrived at the retention pond fronting the Willow Gates community, they discovered an abandoned vehicle with airbags deployed almost in the water. Fire department did a search of the lake and deployed thermal imagers, but found no one at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation.
