On Nov. 5, St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy Gill responded to Best Buy in California, for the reported theft.
His investigation revealed Eric Devon Monk, 20 of Lexington Park, was observed in the business stealing music CDs.
When confronted by staff the suspect quickly exited the store where he was detained by police. A routine check for warrants revealed Monk was wanted on an open warrant and he was arrested.
After his arrest, seven compact discs were found hidden in his clothing.
Monk was transported to the Detention Center served with the open warrant and charged with Theft under $100 and held pending a bond hearing before the District Court Commissioner.
