The Business Alliance of Charles County (BACC) celebrated their first year in grand fashion, hosting the โ2nd Annual BACC Office Party & Celebrationโ for members and guests at the Waldorf Jaycees Community Center.
In addition to the important โBACC businessโ of thanking Inaugural Chairman Wayne Magoon and the Board of Directors for their service and welcoming new Chairman Ginny Crane of Big B Liquors in Bryanโs Road, the crowd was entertained by professional comedian, Kelly Terranova, Karaoke by DJ Christian & Absolute Entertainment and dozens of door prizes provided by BACC members.
Highlights of the BACCโs first year include the creation of alliances with the Small Business Development & Technology Center, State of Marylandโs DLLR One Stop Career Center, Charles County Department of Economic Development, College of Southern Maryland, New Life Church, Chick-fil-A of Charles County and others. Business Alliance-promoted workshops, seminars and non-profit fundraisers were prominent throughout 2012, as were exciting networking Socials and online Member Directory, Barter Connections and Discussion Forums.
Outgoing Chairman of the Board Wayne Magoon passed the gavel to 2013 Chairman Ginny Crane who is โexcited about the opportunity to continue to grow the Alliance and create new opportunities for BACC members and our community.โ The future looks very bright for the Business Alliance of Charles County.
The following are the accomplishments of BACC in its first year:
- ย Assisted the Charles County Youth League in hosting a regional girlsโ softball tournament which attracted more than 400 families and $300,000 of tourism revenue in July
- Sponsored 10 Network Socials, hosted monthly by BACC members and attended by as many as 100 members and guests, offering an energetic and successful opportunity to make new connections with potential customers and clients
- Sponsored 6 seminars/workshops covering important topics from โStaying Relevant in a Changing Marketplaceโ to โGive โEm the Pickle! Itโs All About Customer Serviceโ to โHealthcare Reform for Maryland Businessesโ
- Partnered with Chick-fil-A and New Life Church to host โChick-fil-A Leadercast Southern Marylandโ in May
- Partnered with New Life Church Family, Chick-fil-A of Charles County, Newburg Service Center and Greater Waldorf Jaycees to produce the โWe Can Stop Human Traffickingโ ev
