UPDATE — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office posted the following message identifying the victim from the motorcycle crash earlier today:

“Our Traffic Operations Unit is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a motorcyclist that occurred earlier this morning.

On October 2 at 8:45 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of Billingsley Road and Catchpenny Place in Bryans Road, MD. Police and Fire/EMS responded to the scene and attempted to provide life-saving measures to the motorcycle driver; however, she succumbed to her injuries. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the motorcycle, Rose Annette Proctor, 44, of Bryans Road, was traveling Eastbound on Billingsley Road in the area of Catchpenny Place when she lost control on a curve, crossed the center lines, and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

The driver of the passenger car was not injured and remained on the scene. The Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.”

UPDATE –ย The victim has been pronounced deceased on the scene.

The Charles County Accident Reconstruction Team is on the scene investigating. Expect the area to be closed for an extended period of time.

WHITE PLAINS, Md. — We are receiving reports of a serious motorcycle accident that recently took place on Billingsley Road that involves a local firefighter.

At approximately 8:47 a.m. on October 2, first responders were called to the scene on Billingsley Road, in the area of Catchpenny Place and Offbeat Place for the reported accident involving a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, crews discovered the victim with their helmet knocked off. Their pulse was and breathing was faint, and they were unconscious. CPR was initiated soon after arrival.ย 

The Bryans Road Fire Chief identified that the victim was a local firefighter in Charles County.

The caller who struck the motorcycle advised that they came around a curve too quickly and struck the driver of the motorcycle.

The victim is expected to be transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, however her current condition is unknown. CPR is reportedly still in progress. A medical helicopter that was heading to the scene has been canceled, so any transport is anticipated to be by ground.

Charles County Emergency Services put out the following message soon after:

“Billingsley Road from Catchpenny Pl to Offbeat Plย  will be closed due to an accident. Please take alternate route.”
