CHARLES COUNTY, Md. – This is to advise that Commissioner President Reuben B. Collins, II, Esq., has ordered the Charles County flag to be lowered to half-staff effective immediately. The flag will remain at half-staff until sunset on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in honor of Life Member Mark Powers of the Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit and the La Plata Police Department.
Mr. Powers dedicated 35 distinguished years of service to the Charles County community through both the Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit and the La Plata Police Department. His unwavering commitment, professionalism, and compassion touched countless lives, and his legacy of service will not be forgotten.
